Mecha Studios is a Mexican independent game studio that loves creating fun aesthetic and transcendent products from a players view.

History

Early history

At middle 2016, Jorge Garcia decided to drop his web programming office job and follow his passion along one of his best friends, Hector Sanchez. After some attempts to create their dream project inspired by all the pop culture of the 80's and 90's (wich they grew up with), they quickly found out that a third member with more graphical experience was needed, so, Josue Hernandez was invited and joined the team.

Kickstarter and Neon City Riders

Once the original idea of Neon City Riders was set, they decided to create a crowdfunding campaign using Kickstarter and so, in middle 2017 at the Campus Party convention, they showcased/introduced Mecha Studios and Neon City Riders to the Mexican audience. A couple of weeks after that, and thanks to the media interest, they successfully funded Neon City Riders at 150% of their goal, turning it into the most successful campaign of video games at Kickstarter Mexico.

Launch

After working on full time and financing with their pockets during three long, they finally launched their dream project hoping to people like it as much as they do.

Results

They decided to found Mecha Studios because they wanted to create a safe place to explore freedom and creativity, and they ended up not only with that space, but with a group of talented people they can now call family. They walked a hard couple of years, but thanks to the great response and support they have received, they keep giving our best to become a self-sustainable studio while doing what they love.

New Projects

They are currently working in a brand new project to experiment with mechanics and ideas they couldn't add to Neon City Riders.
